Over the years since playing sports in high school my fitness level slowly decreased and the extra pounds added up. I knew I needed to change something so I began running and training for a ½ marathon. I was introduced to CrossFit when the Olentangy box opened and I thought it would be a good supplement to my running. I thought I was in average shape, how hard could this be? Needless to say once I started CrossFit I realized how out of shape I was and more importantly how dysfunctional my body had become. After the initial shock I started making progress, albeit slowly. As I kept going, I got stronger, faster, but more importantly I also started gaining back the mobility that I had lost. It became apparent very early on CrossFit is more than just a workout program. The community of our gym and the broader CrossFit community is amazing. The community provides encouragement and accountability making you want to push a little harder than you think your body will allow. It is a great feeling knowing what we do on Facebook is actually helping keep people inspired and more importantly getting people to try out our amazing program.
